Stop paying. Start earning.

Reach Verified Contributor and your subscription drops to zero, permanently, as long as you keep it. Every validated answer pays $1, every upheld challenge $1.50. Get overturned and the payout is clawed back, so it stays honest.

What it takes

Active CPA license verified
10,000 reputation (Platinum)
75 validated answers
25 different people validated you
5 upheld challenges
Under 8% overturned
180 days on the platform

A licensed CPA contributing consistently reaches this in about four years on the Contributor plan. The licence check is what makes it real: no amount of reputation alone unlocks earnings.

What is the difference between Brainshare and the forum?

Brainshare is instant and private: an AI answer grounded in accounting standards, in seconds. The forum is public: a real CPA answers, the AI reviewer assesses that answer, other professionals can challenge it, and you decide when you are satisfied. Use Brainshare to think; use the forum when you need an answer a professional stands behind.

How is an answer validated?

Three signals. You agree with the answer that solved it, the AI reviewer publishes its own assessment of every answer and challenge, and any professional can dispute an answer with a written rationale. An answer only reaches Confirmed when the human and AI signals agree and no challenge is open.

How do points work?

A validated answer is worth 1 to 25 points depending on how hard the question is. Every question is answered privately by the AI first, and its confidence sets the value: above 90 percent confidence earns 1 point, below 60 percent earns 25. An upheld challenge earns 25.

What happens if my answer is wrong?

Another professional can challenge it. If the challenge is upheld, the answer loses its validation and you lose 15 points, or everything you earned on it if that was less. A challenge that is not upheld costs the challenger 25. Both sides carry a real cost for being wrong.

Why can free members not answer questions?

Answering is how you build reputation, and reputation is what eventually pays. Member at $9 is the entry point.

Can I change plans later?

Yes, any time. Limits reset on the first of each month. If you run out mid-month you can upgrade, pay the same plan again to reset immediately, or wait for the reset.

What does it take to start earning?

A verified CPA licence, 10,000 reputation, 75 validated answers from 25 different people, 5 upheld challenges, an overturn rate under 8 percent, and 180 days on the platform. Verified Contributors pay no subscription and earn $1 per validated answer and $1.50 per upheld challenge.

Are my questions and answers public?

To other members, yes. Resolved threads stay in the community forum so other professionals can learn from them. Never post confidential client information: use hypothetical or anonymised facts.
